Diet By Disease
If you’re looking for a diet for your situation, it’s out there. If you’re a dyslexic, polo playing, TV executive with a lisp, there is probably a diet available for you. The internet has opened up the world to the minutest of other people’s problems, issues, and idiosyncrasies and that’s okay. Because with that there is a whole new understanding; what once affected just a few is now something that everyone can learn about.
Disease unfortunately affects us all at some point in our lives. Some of us remain virtually untouched until the bitter end; others of us struggle with pills and medication and having to draw everything together in the best way we know how; it seems like since birth.
Some of the diseases are endemic of a diet and require constant upkeep. One disease which requires constant upkeep is diabetes. If you’re a diabetic you already have many pressing needs. One way to keep your insulin in check is to monitor your intake of food. So of course any diabetic who’s had the disease for any length of time can tell you what is good and what they shouldn’t eat. Diabetics probably have a better idea of what the content of foods is than most of us.
Another disease which requires very close attention is hypertension or high blood pressure. You need to lose some weight and get on the treadmill! Diet and exercise are key components to the blood pressure heightening. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables and low fat or fat free dairy are all steps in the quest to eliminate the disease.
If you have hypoglycemia, you need to be sure and pump that glucose into your body in as effective a manner as you know how. The disease determines the diet but there is no mistake for knowing your needs and making sure they’re met.
Most diseases can be treated liberally with a conservative mix of fruits and vegetables and keeping your mind on what goes in your mouth. Disease knows no borders. If you’re careful with your rationing and vigilant in your disposal of certain elements, you should be okay.
