Gluten Free Diet
A gluten-free diet is one which is completely absent of ingredients from gluten laced cereals. A gluten free diet would consist of no wheat, barley, rye, or oats as the main items of non consumption. This diet is believed to be a hopeful peek into being helpful for people with MS, ADHD, and other autoimmune disorders. There was also a study run with a gluten free diet for children with autism who fared very well and showed fewer autistic symptoms than the control group. Currently the diet must be strictly followed by people with coeliac disease and a form of dermatitis.
If you’re on a gluten free diet there are many grains and starches you can still eat. Among these corn, potatoes, rice, and tapioca. Some other grain sources which are thought to work well on a gluten free diet are sweet potato, yam, amaranth, and millet among others.
Gluten free diets for children should be especially carefully followed if necessary. Children’s immune systems and resistance mechanism have not yet been fully formed and are therefore much more likely to be susceptible to disease and other detriments.
The argument between gluten and wheat free diets is a strong one. On the one hand you’ve got people who believe that a small amount of wheat or gluten is okay when combined with certain other nutrients.
Foods to avoid while on a gluten free diet are numerous and should be carefully monitored with your dietician or health care professional. Decisions about what is and what is not okay should not be made independently. However there are resources available online that can help to guide you to a good diet. But you should always speak with your doctor before proceeding with dietary alterations.
Autism, celiac disease, and weight loss are all assisted on a gluten free diet. Check the literature, speak with an official, and go for it! So long it is that we go on with these things bothering us or causing us harm; getting your diet in line with your needs is very important. If you need or desire any of these related effects, a gluten free diet may be just the thing for your diet.
