Weight training has become an art form; just like art you need to feed the vehicle that acts as arts transmitter or you’re sunk. Quality diet is the most oft ignored component to weight training. You need nutrition to feed the body; you need the body to transmit the training. The simple fact of desire over actuality is trumped by the work you put in and the abilities you achieve; you too can be the weight training superstar you’ve always aspired to be; you just need to believe.
A weight training diet isn’t really about weight loss as it’s more formulated to build muscle. Put head to head, weight training vs. cardio for weight loss, it’s not even really much of a contest; cardio wins hands down. But that’s because cardio is designed to trim and tone where weight training is to build and create.
That’s not to say that you should be eating all kinds of junk to “beef up;” quite the contrary; if you don’t eat enough “good carbs,” you’re just as sunk as if you hadn’t eaten enough to begin with.
